
Guru Premakumari
Srivani started learning Bharatanatyam at a tender age from Guru Sunanda under the Kalakshetra style. Later she continued to advance her study and came under the able guidance of Guru Premakumari. Srivani has completed Vidwath (proficiency) level Board exams from Karnataka State.

Guru Premakumari was very instrumental and had a keen insight to teach the art of wielding cymbals, known as Nattuvangam.

Guru Premakumari had a keen interest in enhancing the finer aspects of my dancing capabilities. She was persistent and ensured that there is an emphasis on the performance aspect. She encouraged me to present several solo performances and provided ample support for my growth.

Premakumari hails from a traditional family where art was given high importance. She began her dancing career under N N Baskar and later continued to advance her training under Guru Narmada, Bangalore. Prema is a diploma holder in choreography under the able guidance of Dr. Maya Rao, Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography. Prema is the director of Sri Kalyani Natyala where she imparts training to several students.
