Kaivalya Arts is a non-profit organization in the State of Illinois that is committed to bringing the performing arts of Southern India to the community and providing an enriching platform to proliferate the rich cultural heritage. The idea of connecting the traditional pedagogy of the aesthetic art form to diverse communities will be accomplished through various programs including public performances, lecture demonstrations, workshops, guest artist performances, and community outreach programs. Kaivalya Arts focuses on both preserving South Indian art forms as well as utilizing innovative methods to promote the culture in a comprehensive format.

 

Srivani Vokkarane, founder and artistic director of Kaivalya Arts is a quintessential artiste and an avid thinker keen on evoking the emotions that characterize the essence of life through an aesthetic, artistic experience.

 

Our Story 

 

Srivani moved to the United States two decades ago. With a keen interest in spreading the rich Indian culture, she continued to perform at various community events. She started the ‘Sriranga Dance Academy’ to instruct young aspirants and promote the art form.

 

Srivani established ‘Kaivalya Arts’ as a medium to reach out to several communities through several initiatives and also impart instruction to aspirants following the traditional lineage learning system.
